Born in 1973, she is educated as a flutist and conductor at Trondheim Conservatory of Music. She founded NOVA Chamber Choir in 2001 and also conducts The Norwegian Girls Choir. She now teaches conducting at the Norwegian Academy of Music and the University of Oslo.
Anne Karin has received a number of awards for her conducting and she has led a number of choirs to victory in international competitions. She won the Grand Prize of Concorso Polifonico Guido d'Arezzo in Italy with NOVA Chamber Choir in 2004, as well as the Grand Prize of the Seghizzi competition in Gorizia, Italy, with The Norwegian National Youth Choir in 2007.
