He is one of the most innovative and interesting rods of the new italian school. Pianist by formation, conductor by heart, he studied singing, composition, orchestra and choir conducting. Assistant of J. Jürgens, a pupil of K. Österreicher, distincted himself among others together with Sir J. E. Gardiner and F. Leitner, Bressan represents a synthesis of a deep knowledge both of the Italian vocal tradition and the great German symphonic school. Director of the Orchestra Sinfonica di Savona, guest director of the Orchestra Filarmonica di Torino and of the major Italian festivals, he collaborated with C. Abbado, F. Brüggen, M.W. Chung, C.M. Giulini, E. Inbal, N. Järvi, P. Maag, L. Maazel, G. Prêtre, M. Rostropovich, G. Sinopoli, J. Tate, L. Berio, A. Pärt, R. Vlad and with the orchestra and the choir of the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia, the orchestra and the choir of the Teatro La Fenice di Venezia, the Orchestra Sinfonica Nazionale of RAI in Torino and ORT. He was principal conductor of the Accademia de li Musici. He founded and directed for almost twenty years the Athestis Chorus&Orchestra and then the ensemble choir&orchestra Voxonus. He has always desired to keep a connection with chorality while conducting prestigious formations such as the World Youth Choir (2005), the Estonian National Male Choir, the Coro Giovanile Italiano (2003-2004), the Choeur National des Jeunes and the Norwegian National Youth Choir. He devotes himself also to the study of musicology and performance practice of early music. He recorded various world premieres and has cut records for Decca, DG, EMI, Virgin, Chandos Records.
