Trofarello (TO) - Chiesa dei SS. Quirico e Giulitta
Chiesa dei SS. Quirico e Giulietta
Trofarello is located on the border between the plain and the foothills, at the centre of what was an important road junction. The name has probably Celtic origins. The first traces of human settlements date back to the second century BC, due to the colonisation of the provinces by the Romans. It was an obliged passage, especially in the Middle Ages, connecting France to the Italian territories. In the centre town you can admire the newly restored Castello Vagnone, the Medieval tower, the Castello of Rivera and the church dedicated to the martyrs Quirico and Giuditta, in which the relics of the martyrs were preserved, before being transferred to Nerves.
