Parade and Opening Ceremony
A canon for 4,000 voices! This will resonate in the streets of Torino during the afternoon of 28th July. All choirs will sing a famous canon by Thomas Tallis, that is a canon without an original text, which allows everyone to interpret it in his or her own language. The richness of colours and languages of the 40 countries attending the festival will manifest itself through the harmony of the original composition. The choirs will parade, then, in colourful processions that will converge in Piazza Castello adding voice to voice, choir to choir.
