Hello, all you lovely ”Singing Ladies!”
I´m Bo Johansson, nicknamed "Bosse", the conductor for the atelier ”Singing Ladies”. I would like to invite you to join me for a fantastic week in Turin. My atelier specialises in music for ladies voices, the loveliest music of all, and for women who love to sing together, women who dare to sing with their whole bodies and smiles on their faces.
We will get to know each other through exciting improvisations where we walk around singing, searching for new tones and sounds, and practicing listening to each other through eye contact. In my atelier everyone’s voice is worth just as much as everyone else's!
I offer a very wide musical repertoire. Here is a brief description what we will sing.
We will sing madrigals like:”Now is the month of Maying”, "Tanzen und Springen”, and ”Aglepta” by Arne Mellnäs, a magic spell for those who risk a modern performance with weird tones. Bring a flashlight! No one knows what can happen in a magic spell.
Is there anything more beatiful than Swedish folkmusic? We will sing ”Värmlandsvisan” and I himmelen, arranged by Sweden´s most exciting composer, Karin Rehnqvist.
Holst´s ”Ave Maria” for double fourpart choirs will bring tears to the eyes of listeners when we perform it at our final concert.
The overall sound in ”Psedo-Yoik”by Finnish composer, Jaako Mäntyranta, should be somewhat coarse and nasal. It's a sound generously endowed with the quaint characteristics that we identify with ethnic music, almost to the point of parody! There is nothing more fascinating to take the audience´s breath away, not to mention our own breaths! Lots of fun!
Everyone’s voice is valuable in ”Singing Ladies.” I need all kinds of voices: high-pitched as well as low ones. Sharpen your senses, allow yourself to be swept away by the musical experience with a smile on your face, at artistic heights that know no social boundaries! This qualifies you for my atelier!

He is an enthusiastic and dedicated conductor and music teacher who founded the world famous girls’ choir Adolf Fredriks Flickkör in 1971. He is often invited as guest conductor, speaker and panel judge.
