Elisenda Carrasco (ES/Cat)

Born in Barcelona in 1971, she finished her superior level studies in Composition, Orchestra conducting and Choral Conducting Teacher Training at the Superior Conservatory of Music in Barcelona. She then furthered her studies in Orchestra Conducting at the Friedrich Chopin Academy in Warsaw.
She has been teaching and conducting for over twenty years, and has particularly developed and deepened her knowledge and technique with children’s choirs. She is frequently invited to give courses and workshops to children all over the world. Her presence was requested several times in Venezuela by the orchestral movement FESNOJIV, El Sistema and the choral movement created by the Schola Cantorum in Caracas to hold courses and workshops on the direction of children’s choirs.
She regularly collaborates with the Educational Department Auditori of Barcelona and the Gran Teatre del Liceu to train and teach other choir conductors, and she also participates in concerts, both as conductor and organiser. She has conducted the Cor Infantil de l’Orfeó Català Palau de la Música Catalana for more than fifteen years. She is the conductor of Cor Infantil Sant Cugat and the female choir Voxalba.
