She studied Music at the Music high school “Lemmens institute” in Leuven (Belgium).
Now she is a teacher at the B.V.M.Ascension Institute and the Municipal Art Academy.
She took lots of national and international choirmaster lessons, a.o. with Johan Duyck, Laszlo Heltay, Georg Grün and Silvana Valessi.
Marleen is very active in the choir World. She is a member of the Vocal Commission of the Province of Western Flanders.
Marleen sits in the capacity of management board member of choir & voice national. Besides she also sits in the capacity of management board member of the VFJK choir & voice.
Since a couple of years, Marleen serves on the jury for the provincial choir turniers in Eastern Flanders.
She is an active member of European Choral Association – Europa Cantat, a.o. with the organisation of international singing weeks and weekends and choirmaster lessons and she also gives numerous (national and international) workshops herself.
For several years, she was also the founder of the mixed Laidos choir (1986) and is also choirmaster of the school choir Sjaloom.
