Born in 1972, she has studied singing, piano, organ and choir conducting and composition at Malmö Music Academy and baroque cello at Royal College of Music, Stockholm. Sofia has experiences from both great classical and smaller stages. She has the artistic and musical responsibility for Malmö Opera Chorus with 36 full-time professional singers. She is also responsible for reharsals and everything that concerns the chorus in all the productions of Malmö Opera.
She has travelled the world with the male choir Svanholm Singers with which she has recorded five CDs and received lots of prizes and awards. She has been awarded numerous prizes for her conducting: VIII Orlando di Lasso Choir Festival in Rome, Italy (2000), Hora Cantavi in Poland (2002), IV International Madetoja Competition in Lahti, Finland (2005) and in the 45th Concorso internazionale di canto corale Seghizzi, Gorizia, Italy (2006). In addition, her interpretations have been recognized with a number of honours.
She was chorus master at Lund International Choral Festival in 2008 and 2010 and member of international juries of important choral competition like Montreux Choral Festival (Switzerland) and Concorso internazionale di canto corale Seghizzi, Gorizia.
