Singer, organist, conductor and musicologist, Paolo Da Col studied music and musicology in Bologna, turning from a young age his interests to the repertoire of Renaissance and Baroque music. He was a member for over twenty years of several vocal Italian ensembles, including the Cappella di St. Petronio in Bologna and the Ensemble Istitutioni Harmoniche.
Since 1998 he has been directing the vocal ensemble Odhecaton, as well as other leading vocal and instrumental in the baroque repertoire.
He teaches at the Conservatory of Trieste.
He directs with Luigi Ferdinando Tagliavini “L’Organo” magazine, works as a music critic for the Journal of Music and other magazines, directs the music catalog publisher Arnaldo Forni of Bologna, he is the curator of editions of instrumental and vocal music , author of music catalogs of musical collections and essays about the history of Renaissance and pre-classical vocal technique.In 2010 he received the Diapason d'or for the recording of the Missa Papa Marcelli by Palestrina.
